I’m reluctantly selling my 5” Gauge “Twin Sisters” project. I’m forced to reassess what’s achievable and this is not going to get done. “Twin Sisters” is a 5” Gauge 0-6-0 locomotive designed by J Austin-Walton and serialised in the Model Engineer starting in 1950. It is based closely on the LMS Fowler Dock Tank and so it’s a powerful short wheelbase locomotive. I’m selling a well advanced chassis with frames, spacers, hornguides, springs and wheels sets quartered on their axles. There’s a boiler and superheater with a current hydraulic certificate. Additionally there’s a turned smokebox and door, a beaten dome cover and turned chimney, an ashpan and grate, regulator, engine driven pump, firebox door, front coupling rods, cylinders, buffer housings and various other components and castings. The work is to a good standard by an accomplished engineer. For instance the cylinders are formed from solid rather than from castings. There is also many sheets of drawings, with the others available and copies of most of the ME articles. Kennions supply the outstanding castings. You are welcome to come and have a look – I’m in the Doncaster area. You would need to collect it anyway. This is a quality project. More pics on request. Bargain for quick sale.
