We are getting reports of people still getting emails about the adverts they are putting on the site, I have added a few to the list so you can see the type of email that is being sent. He was a member of the Echills Wood Railway now located in the Kingsbury Water Park. Details: I know this is a long shot, but I am looking for freshair respirator which is driven by re-chargeable batteries. I am aware that Screwfix and Cromwell tools have them in their catologue but they are £160 and £150 respectively. As I have a very very limited requirement for this respirator, I feel that this is too much money, and I was hoping that someone out there may have a reasonable one that they would be prepared to sell cheaply.

Details: This is a full sheet of copper 3mm thick (10 SWG) 6ft long x 3ft wide (1800mm x 900mm), It was held in stock for a number of years by a now deceased model engineer for the boiler of his next loco which never happened so there is no modern paper certification. It is in excellent condition, flat, no dints or scratches, just the expected patina of age and odd surface stains. Copper prices have rocketed recently. Currently a commercial supplier is offering the same gauge 500mm x 500mm for £277 plus VAT. So how about £350 for this sheet? Details: I acquired a stray collet. It is unlike any collet I've seen. If you can tell me what it was for and what it fits, and indeed have a use for it, it's yours for the cost of the postage - heavy though!
It's marked with the usual interlocking Crawford CC, AS4/A and 0.500 (the bore is about 1/2").
It appears to be made of bronze; perhaps not unusual in emergency collets, but there are none of the usual pins, besides it has a definite size; so why bronze?
Overall length is about 31/4", with a much slower taper than usual for the closure over nearly half the length. There is an external thread that I haven't measured and a matching knurled steel ring. Theanti rotation slot is also unusual, being in the tapered part and not the main bearing area.
At the moment this is a (rather nice) ornament, but it did occur to me that someone might find it useful and satisfy my curiosity in the process of acquiring it!
Details: Mandrel or arbor press a bit bigger and heavier than the Sealy PK3000 3-tonne press. Throat 210 mm max ram height above table 390 mm. Scruffy paint but in good working order on heavy angle iron stand. Price greatly reduced to encourage sale. Collect only due to weight.
Details: A rare genuine Boxford vertical slide with both the vice type work clamp and the tee-slotted table. Excellent condition except where it has obviously had an argument with a cutter or, more likely, the lathe chuck - detail picture shows damage.
I thought that I could put three photos with the ad but is seems that I can only upload 2 - rest assured that the tee-slot table is included and in the same tidy condtion as the rest of the kit - except that it has been fighting with a cutter! Details: Still having a clear out. This is a "modern" Meddings bench drill, it has had very little use but was dry stored for a few years and shows some signs of rust but it's only cosmetic. There is still paint on the inside of the "T" slots. It runs very smoothly as you would expect from this industry standard drill. Single phase 0.5HP Newman british motor, Jacobs 1/2 inch chuck on No2 Morse taper. Speeds of 4000,2300,1400,900 & 500 RPM. Has a quill lock and quick set depth stop. I can also find a parts list and operating manual if you need one. I think I have a genuine Meddings chuck guard for an extra £10 if you must but they just get in the way. With a long column from Meddings (still in business) you can convert to floor mount castings for both types are identical. I'll deliver if you are local. Come and try if you wish.

Details: Hello, I hope all are well and thanks again to the administrators and the people who respond to ads making this such a great site. I bought an 8mm BTM watchmakers lathe a little while ago and some standard accessories are missing; Collets 1,2,14 and 16. Apparantly these are the same as Boley 8mm collets. The three jaw chuck is also missing, as is the compound cross slide and the gap or stepped bed. I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has any of these items for sale.
