Spaces in ad links

Spaces in ad links

I noticed that clicking the green number in the advert to just show individual ads doesn't work anymore (useful for sending a link to someone). Looking at a typical link it seems that somehow they now have two spaces in the link effectively breaking the URL.

Here's an example:

Code:

https://www.homeworkshop.org.uk/in%20dex.php?option=com_adsmanager&view=s%20how_ad&adid=31683&catid=2

Should be

Code:

https://www.homeworkshop.org.uk/index.php?option=com_adsmanager&view=show_ad&adid=31683&catid=2

Can this be remedied?

Re: Spaces in ad links

Hi Pete, Thank you for the heads up we are looking into this but it seems to be browser dependant as the space is in different places so is making it hard to find the issue.

Re: Spaces in ad links

Thanks Adam,

I get the same effect in Firefox and I.E, plus there's a gap between the 2nd and 3rd digit of every green advert number. On my mobile using Chrome there's no gap but there is a < /b> tag after every green number in every advert.

Re: Spaces in ad links

THank you for the information Pete. I think you have found it they is a missing tag somewhere in the page that the browser is not closing. That also explains the sudden bold text turning up.

Re: Spaces in ad links

Hi Pete, we found the bug in the code. due to apple devices breaking long line with a non-breaking space we used a new function to break long lines up with a breaking space in the line. this was also breaking the string for the link so we have replaced the function  to detect these links and to not add spaces.
