Details:
This is a Smart and Brown precision toolroom lathe type 1024 serial number 10536 which is 5in centre height, 24in between centres. A 3 phase motor is fitted, but the original 3 speed motor with brake is included in the sale. This motor appears functional but has not been fully tested.
There are two 3 jaw chucks and two 4 jaw, but not all have the cam lock pins. Faceplate, change wheel gears, chuck guard and the majority of a taper turning attachment fitted at the rear of the bed are all included.
This is a good and robust lathe, in good clean condition, having had very little use within a military environment and latterly in the care of a local model engineer. The main instruction manuals are included, along with the original receipt from the military base at Culmhead. The weight is 1.2 tonnes.
This lathe is presently located at the Taunton Model Engineers site near West Buckland, Somerset, close to junction 26 of the M5 and is being sold for club funds. It can be viewed by appointment, and we can give assistance for loading and possibly arrange transport within a reasonable area.
Taunton Model Engineers is asking £1500 for the lathe, or near offer.
David Hartland, Chairman, Taunton Model Engineers.
