For Sale: 3/4" Coventry Diehead and accessories

Tue 1st Oct '19

Advert ID: 36306

Now I've sold my big lathe, I won't be able to use the 3/4" Coventry diehead thats been lurking under the bench for ages.
3/4" Coventry Diehead in good condition, with 16 sets of chasers, mostly Alfred Herbert, but 3 sets are Japanese still in sealed boxes.
There are 1/2"x 12, 3/8 BSP, 3/4x26, 5/8"x 18UNF, 1/2" ANP, 5/8" x 11, 1/4" Gas, 3/4"x 16, 5/16" x 18 (2 sets) 1/2" x 14 BSP, 3/8" x16 (2 sets) 3/4" x 10 and 3/8" x 20, all in good clean condition, mostly still in their boxes.
£80 for the diehead and all the chasers.

Then there is an Alfred Herbert grinding jig for resharpening cutters for the 3/4" die head. Quite a rare item I think, £20

An Alfred Herbert height setting gauge, for 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" and 1/2" die heads. £20

An original (not a photocopy) Alfred Herbert 'Book of the Coventry Diehead - 16th edition' containing all the information you could ever need on choosing, using and maintaining your die head. Good clean condition £20

Lastly, you may have seen a recent series of articles in MEW for making a tailstock mounted holder for dieheads, using a fabricated body. I started the same thing some time ago,but made a pattern and got a casting for the body. I started machining it, but didn't finish. Its currently bored to fit in a 13/8" dia tailstock barrel. Theres a drawing for it in the handbook, (see above) £20

or £150 for the lot.

Postage extra on all the above, or collect from Inkberrow in Worcestershire
