Use correct sentience formatting rules, a space after the colon: semi-colon; comma, full stop. and exclamation! characters. URL address will use words with dots between the words without spaces and if the system sees these it will treat them as URL links. So please use the preview, it allows you access to the edit button, to change the mistakes otherwise the adverts will just be removed.
NEW! logo after 10 years the tread board needed repainting, if any remember the old Green text logo might remember how the tread patten ended up becoming the background. The photos have also been upgraded to add logo's and date/time stamps to the images on upload so that the photos are noticeable for people linking to them.

Details: Could you look under your benches and in dusty corners of the workshop for some parts to allow me to rebuild an old Portass lathe? I am looking for: A saddle and cross-slide. I really need just the castings but other bits may be helpful. Condition is not too important. The saddle should be approx 6”x4” to fit a V bed with a width of 2.8”. A set of change wheels plus, if possible the V banjo and studs / spacers. I might also be interested in chucks / faceplates / catch plate. Nose thread is 1”x12tpi These are needed for a Portass XL but could come from a model S or badged equivalent - bed length not important. Parts from the larger Portass (Drednaught etc) are not suitable. Many Thanks

Details: Edwards 3ft metal guillotine, sheet metal frame, sturdy but not too heavy, cuts up to 1.6mm bms, so the blade is reasonably sharp. Not dismantled and in full working order. Will need to be collected, but will fit into a Transit-sized van or a trailer. With a couple of strong blokes + me (and some ingenuity) it should be possible to get it in one piece, but bringing along a garage crane would certainly make life a lot easier! £370.00 ono. 2ft guillotine metal guillotine, cast iron frame, very heavy but can be dismantled for transport. Full working order, but needs adjustment to cut cleanly. Will cut 1.6mm bms. Will need to be collected, but In dismantled form will fit into an estate car or even a hatchback. £220.00 ono. Set of 30” (might even be 36”) bending rolls with 2.5” rollers. Good working order. Heavy, but a one person lift and will fit into a hatchback or larger. £220.00 ono. All of these items are currently stored in a dry garage, but unfortunately it’s too crowded and dark to photograph them.

Details: A long shot, but here goesI've a 5" 'Pratt' lathe chuck (model 9026P), but only the 'reverse' (ie tall at the outside) jaws. Does anyone have a set of 'standard' (ie tall at the centre) jaws to fit this chuck? or does anyone know where to get some (economically - I can buy an entire far eastern chuck for £65). Details: This 800mm square surface plate has been used as a jig assembly base plate but is still quite usable as a cheap surface plate or for continued use for jig setups. It has various tapped holes and some clearance holes in various positions. Due to weight and size collection preferred from Royston (Herts) area but alternative delivery arrangements can be discussed.
Details: Decent quality British 3-Jaw Chuck threaded to fit a Myford ML2 or 3 with the 1" Spindle - the Nose being reduced to 7/8th. Chuck action is smooth, and requires a 3/8th Sq Key.

Machines (Large Tooling) Repair and Spares (To use to fix others
Details: It came from a Myford ML2 or 3, which was broken for other parts. Please note that the Spindle sizing is: 7/8" x 12tpi, (so is not the larger Nose Thread 1-1/8th x 12tpi of the ML4, or the ML1 thread of 7/8" x 9tpi). The actual bronze bearings in the Head are pretty unmarked despite being some 70+ years old!, and the Spindle revolves smoothly, so the whole Head might well be used in a similar machine which has seen more work. The Bullwheel has lost two teeth, but the Spindle Pulley unit and its Gear are fine. Repairing the Bullwheel might give some practice in repair by drilling and filing for someone! (a second Bullwheel with missing teeth is included) Can post with DPD, but if Collected then the 26" Bed with a fair surface would be included free. A separate advert is for the 4-1/4" Pratt Chuck which is also in good condition, and an advert for the Gear Carrier and Backgear operating accentric Shaft will also be going on here soon..(No other parts are available)
