We are getting reports of people still getting emails about the adverts they are putting on the site, I have added a few to the list so you can see the type of email that is being sent. Most of these emailers just want you to respond so they know they got a valid email address before selling it. The best thing to do is just delete them or report them to the host, gmail take this very seriously and so do hotmail, both address for reporting are in this post

Details: A tailstock is required for an 8mm "W" bed Wolf Jahn watchmakers lathe. Lever operated, or plain push. Lathe centre height is 50mm. Other makes, Boley etc may be acceptable. Please phone John on 01823443271
Details: The engine is a 5hp Honda single cylinder petrol 4 stroke, cord pull start. The ignition is controlled by a key switch and has an emergency stop button fitted in the cab - the operation of the emergency stop stops the engine and the hydraulic converter effectively slows the locomotive. The engine is mounted on Honda vibration isolators and has a second silencer to smooth and quieten the engine. The loco has robust steel chassis of bolted and welded construction, 2 part epoxy painted for durability.
Gearing via a 2:1 v - belt reduction from the engine to an Eaton Hydraulic converter gearbox and then a 3:1 duplex chain to the rear axle. The Eaton hydraulic converter gives full control of speed, in either direction from neutral and is also a very powerful brake. There are coupling rods joining front and rear axles and this gives 4 wheel traction and braking. The normal load capacity is 2 carriages, 10 adults, on our track although 3 carriages would be possible.
The tender is of steel construction with a 4 wheel hand operated brake. The body has good capacity for tools and equipment and houses a small 12 v accumulator to supply the horn. Both engine and tender are fully sprung and the tender seating is very comfortable.

I understand Haighton's used to advertise their Cadet model makers lathe (made between 1953-58) in various model makers magazines.

Details: Over the past 12 months or so I have been building a Petrol Mechanical driven loco, in early trials I was having difficulty with the reverse gearbox so I started to look for an alternative drive system. With the fault now rectified with the gearbox I no longer need the back up plan!!
Inspired by this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-lNvslqpgg I set out to buy myself one of those mowers to canibalise the drive system from, it is still largely complete and all of the hydraulic system is intact so you can 'test drive' it if you so wish, I was quite surprised by the power available, it will make a fantastic drive system for a 7 1/4" gauge loco at less than the cost of an Eaton Unit with the advantage that the drive motor can be placed where ever you desire! No smoke from the engine or leaks from the hydraulics, starts first pull every time, any trial welcome!

Details: Offering for sale a Cunliffe & Croom swivelling slotting head. Adjustable stroke 0 to 3 inches. Slide is moved then re-locked to adjust, no adjusting screw. Accepts 3/4" round tool, but tool mounting plate can be changed to suit. Overall dimensions of back plate 16.5" x 13.75" x 2.5" thick. Head 7.75" thick, approx 13.5" above centre, and 7 3/4" below centre on full stroke. All appears in good order. It appears the drive would be from the front of a standard 50 International spindle, using the drive dogs. The mounting plate locating onto the outside diameter of same. However this could be modified to suit. Quite a heavy item, lifting eye on top of head. Any further details provided on request.

Details: This lathe has been stored since new and has only just had all its original preservative oil removed for the pictures. It has been tested with a few trial cuts on aluminium bar, but never been used to make anything. The milling head has never been used apart from turning on the motor to test.The pictures were taken at very close range for the purpose of demonstrating to a potential buyer its unused condition and I now realise that I did not take a good overall view to post.The lathe has a three jaw chuck( open back type), drive dog, dead centre, live centre, tail stock drill chuck and arbor. The lead screw is manually operated by the end hand wheel and would need the drive gear kit if it was to be power driven. The milling head is threaded for the drill chuck but can also take an Emco collet holder. This lathe had been stored in my workshop for many years, but because of redevelopment, it is now at my home address.I am undecided whether to split it up - lathe /milling head.I would prefer collection if a purchaser was to be found, but could build a wooden crate in my cabinet makers workshop at an agreed cost of delivery.I do have a number of other pictures available, but again, they are all close range to show its condition.

Details: Hi everyone and firstly may I offer my best wishes to all of the users of this marvellous site. I need some information on a myford taper turning attachment that I have. It came without the loose parts, no swivel pin for the ways or the swivel piece that connects the link arm thst bolts to the cross slide to the travelling slide. I have made the swivel pin but am not sure if the other piece just needs to be bored and reamed or if it would require bushing. If any one knows or has a taper turning attachment and could check and let me know that would be very helpful. Regards Richard

Details: Does anyone have a copy of the "Chronos Tools" catalogue surplus to requirements (now no longer available from Chronos). I threw mine out by mistake when tidying up workshop, I know its out of date but I used it as a handy quick reference guide. Willing to pay reasonable price plus postage if anyone has a spare copy.
Details: I have a number of 10 9 and 7 BA taps there are 21 in total. Mostly taper or second but I think I can find a set of 3 in 10 BA and 9 BA . There are some long 10BA taps too. They are all old and used but look in good condition. I think that 50p per tap or £10 for the lot is fair, I don't think I'll ever use taps this small. Post free to UK address.

Details: Hi, I'm looking for a 1" milling arbour with spacers and nut, about 12" long (or capable of modification) preferably with No3 or No 2 Morse Taper....a plain end would do. Details: I would like one but know that only 3 are rumoured to exist , 2 in the US and one with Lord Lucan whereever that is . For Peter Allen who wants one suggest he look at very reasonably priced steadies for Chinese copies in Axminster or House of Tools on line catalogs. Axminster's stuff is very competitive and I bought a travelling and fixed steady which with very little work adapt perfectly to the V10/V10P . Unless your luck is king-sized you're likely to enter a very competitive auction should Lord Lucan decide to sell. Rgds.
